As soon as we began to carefully measure and allot time it became apparent that time is limited!

Time tracking tools help us analyse how we allocate our time, enabling us to fundamentally identify whether or not we need to brush up our time management skills. The following tips have been put together in order to make this decision making process easier:

How You Can Efficiently Manage Your Time:

  • Decide the evening before what your most important tasks are for the day ahead and determine how much time you would like to allot to these tasks.
  • Set fixed deadlines to all your long-term projects – it is important you try and keep to these.
  • Avoid interruptions.
  • Bunching similar tasks together will help you save time. For example, dedicate an hour of your day for answering all of your daily e-mails and for the rest of the day your inbox should remain closed.

Of course each and every one of us works differently, but one thing that we all have in common is we are all working to the same time frame. This is one of the reasons why time management is so important for survival in today’s society.

Dr. Zeitgeist's Tip!
Do everything what can be done in less than 2 minutes at the same time. For example, move all read and answered e-mails into the correct folders. Do not create a “will do that later” pile on your desk because you may just not have time later. Whenever you find yourself being landed with a new task or project decide there and then how you should best complete it.
